Introduction
SNUG is your opportunity to share your expertise with your fellow Synopsys users, including some of the top electronics innovators in the world.
Reflecting SNUG’s commitment to technical excellence, all papers are peer reviewed by the SNUG Technical committee, composed of both experienced users and Synopsys experts. If your proposal is accepted, a Technical Committee member will be assigned to work with you to help you create and deliver an exceptional paper and conference presentation that will enhance your professional standing and reflect favorably on your company or university.
Submitting Your Paper Proposal
Your SNUG paper should be focused on your experience using Synopsys tools as a central element of your design methodology. Your submission should clearly identify the tools used and state all the key points that will be covered in an 35-45 minute presentation, including Q&A. You will use the SNUG paper template throughout the process-from proposal submission through the development, review and delivery phases.
Prior to submitting your proposal, please complete the sections marked "Mandatory for Submission". You will attach this document to your proposal.

Paper Acceptance Criteria
The SNUG Technical Committee has implemented a two-step acceptance process:
- Preliminary paper acceptance is based on the initial draft paper submission.
- Final paper acceptance and the assignment of presentation spots at the conference are made after the paper is complete, reviewed and approved by the Technical Committee.
The SNUG Technical Committee evaluates submissions based on a number of criteria, including:
- Technical Relevance: Is the topic meaningful to other professionals? Introduce the problem or challenge that you are addressing.
- Technical Applicability: Is the topic general enough to be helpful to other high-level designers?
- Technical Completeness: Is the topic explored completely? Describe the approach that you took to analyze and address your challenge.
- Are the problems and solutions well described? Review lessons learned along the way (what was expected/unexpected, what went well/not so well).
- Is the conclusion well substantiated? Why is your solution a good one? What can other designers take away and use from your paper?
- What are some ongoing areas of development or next steps that you (or a peer) could pursue?
- General Readability: Is the paper well organized? Is the paper grammatically correct and spelled correctly?
- Effective Summary of your effort and results.

Presenting at SNUG
You should use your SNUG presentation as a "discussion" rather than a "reading" of your technical paper. While you should cover the same key points in both your paper and your live session, there are important differences in HOW you communicate your information. Many of the conference attendees will have already read your paper in the pre-proceedings on-line. They will expect to hear you discuss your techniques, talk about your approach, and support your conclusions.

Authors of these exceptional papers receive cash awards and recognition on the SNUG website, the SolvNet online support website and conference press materials.
